The Brasilia JumpStart looks at how we can use the flexibility of a CSS layout to control the number of columns on any given page directly from your CSS file. You simply need to add a class to the body tag and the CSS takes care of everything else for you! Brasilia also has a slight variation on the popular sliding doors CSS navigation system. While the concept is exactly the same as we have used in the past, on this occasion the navigation hangs from the top of the page rather than sitting at the bottom of its containing element.

The main construction of Brasilia consists of liquid horizontal outer divs while maintaining a fixed inner content width to ensure that the design fills out the user's browser width, while still maintaining a good line reading length. The layout will collapse gracefully on smaller viewports while the images in the strap are self centering to ensure the layout always displays at it's best.
