The new semester is under way, and my students are using this CSS Starter Page series to design their portfolio sites. As we go along, we'll be exploring various nifty ways to add the portfolios of their graphic design work. In this installment of the CSS Starter Page series, we're going to use a jQuery script to create an attractive slideshow of images with descriptive text. We'll accomplish this objective in stages. First we'll insert the slides into the HTML code so that even older browsers have access to the content. Our next step will be to style the slides with CSS, a "progressive enhancement" that will benefit most users. Finally, we'll add the pre-written jQuery script to add a little wow factor to the slideshow....
